Storing Foods to Avoid Waste

Spoilage is sometimes hard to avoid. Proper storage can help delay the inevitable degradation of food and reduce food waste.

Use It Up–Peppers and Cherry Tomatoes

Not only does roasting keep these foods out of the green bin, it makes them easier to incorporate into meals with no chopping required when I need them on the fly for an omelette or a wrap.

An online search will turn up ideas for leftover rice–some more labour-intensive than others–but here are a few basics that I use regularly.
