Spoilage is sometimes hard to avoid. Proper storage can help delay the inevitable degradation of food and reduce food waste.
So, what can you do with leftovers? I hope to provide some ideas and inspiration here
Not only does roasting keep these foods out of the green bin, it makes them easier to incorporate into meals with no chopping required when I need them on the fly for an omelette or a wrap.
An online search will turn up ideas for leftover rice–some more labour-intensive than others–but here are a few basics that I use regularly.
If you need motivation, remember why you are doing this in the first place: to reduce food waste and its associated environmental impact, to save money, and to make suppertime less stressful. Below, some other thoughts that may help.
