A New Approach to Meal Planning

Rather than meal planning, I like to think in terms of meal repurposing and extending; that is, using familiar dishes in different ways and ensuring they last beyond one meal. Here are some tips for how to do it.

Tacos are one of the best and easiest uses for leftovers. Just about any protein can be used in a taco. That is why I recommend keeping taco shells in your pantry.

Freezer Fusion

What happens when you find your freezer littered with half-open packages of appetizers? You cook up all the little bits, serve them for dinner with a vegetable or salad on the side, and call it freezer fusion.

Soup Is a Meal

Yes, soup is definitely a meal but it has to be hearty and accompanied by some filling sides, like crusty bread or a sandwich, some steamed vegetables, or the sides I’ve suggested for each of the soups featured here.
